Lala and Google partner to disrupt the online music industry. Some music lovers are buying access to online music libraries which allows them to listen to their music from any device connected to the internet.
Music as a Service (MaaS) from Lala allows you to subscribe to music and stream it anytime you want. Several years ago, CD collections gave way to digital music collections in iTunes. If you had a CD collection, you might have even been happy to get rid of them. A CD collection can take up a lot of space and its much easier to manage music, build playlists, purchase songs, etc in iTunes.
Then, you might have started using a service like Pandora to stream free music anywhere. You may have used it to stream music to your blackberry while at the gym. The problem is that these services are all limited in some way and you can’t load up a playlist with your favorite songs.
- “Lala provides and iTunes-like experience without downloading music or installing software.”
I just signed up for my free Lala account today and love it, love it, love it. They allow you to manage your music with an interface that will look very familarto iTunes users. 25 songs free and the prices look cheaper than Apple’s iTune store. This is going to be big!!! Now that they have partnered with Google, this is going to change the way people find and consume music. This also will also allow struggling artists to bubble up organically in the Google search rankings.
