We all know that a picture is worth 1000 words. However, most products and services don’t do a good job of presenting large amounts of data in a useful format. In other words, the reporting sucks!
Flare is an open source tool that creates beautiful data visualizations that are also interactive. From my own experience in enterprise software sales, management LOVES pretty graphs and charts. We call them reports for “the guys with ties.”
With web-based applications and services becoming more popular, companies are looking for ways to create interactive applications that are hosted online. For reporting, this is the best package I’ve seen. For example, I’m in SalesForce.com every day and this makes their reporting engine look like a dog.
